One of our favorite things to do is share food and eat in community with people. We believe food is medicine meant to nourish our body, mind and spirit. Over the past few years we have been marinating on the idea of writing a cookbook that is for disabled people, written by disabled people, and organized by how many spoons it takes to make a meal. We don’t mean actual spoons, we’re talking about energetic spoons; as written by Christine Miserandino.
In 2022, we created Measuring Spoons. This project has been a labor of love because all of the work we do is rooted in disability justice. As two BIPOC disabled queer women, we want to make sure that what we share with the world is as accessible as possible. This means adapting recipes and hacks for all disability types and dietary needs. In order to build out the content we need YOUR help!
